Lou Munden
Lou is the inventor of the Mission Climate Project and responsible for its executive management. He is also the Founder of TMP, a Japanese/British consulting group founded in 2009 to solve environmental, social and security problems. Lou dropped out of college in 1996 to join a small start-up called Go2Net, one of the few profitable dot-coms of the time. He directed sales strategy and helped the company reach a market capitalization of $2.4 billion in 1999, after which he spent the a decade as a partner in various private finance ventures, with a primary focus on designing algorithmic trading systems for derivatives markets. He lives in Tokyo.

Ben Bowie
Ben is the Managing Director of TMP Public, the non-profit wing of TMP through which foundations support the Mission Climate Project. His role in the project is to oversee research regarding social, political and demographic risks. An expert in sustainable development, Ben has served on the Steering and Advisory Groups for the OECD Responsible Business Conduct Guidelines, IIED’s Empowering Producers in Commercial Agriculture (EPIC) and for the Interlaken Group, among others. He received his MSc in Asian Politics from SOAS University of London, and his BA in Social and Political Sciences from Cambridge University. He lives in Oxford.

Jack Denton
Jack has been an Associate at TMP since 2013. He provides social analysis for the Mission Climate Project with a focus on political and social instability. Previously, Jack worked on community climate change responses while founding a social enterprise that used technology to improve transparency in coffee supply chains. Jack also worked on international and energy policy at the Green Party, and on issues facing minority and indigenous communities for Minority Rights Group International. Jack holds a MA in the Anthropology of Development from the University of London and has a BA in Archaeology and Anthropology from the University of Cambridge. He lives in Bristol.

Kristine Garcia-Gibe
Kristine has been a GIS Analyst at TMP since 2013, working on various research projects related to global environmental change, natural resources management, capacity building and outreach, and science-policy. Her work on the Mission Climate Project covers execution of spatial analytics and development of visuals for conveying risk. Previously, she was a coordinator at the Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research in Kobe and a researcher at the World Agroforestry Centre. Kristine received her BS in Mathematics and MS in Environmental Science from the University of the Philippines Los Baños. She is based in Laguna.

Benedict Lever
Benedict has been a Research Associate at TMP since 2020. His work on the Mission Climate Project spans a wide range of issues, including food security, hydropower and climate litigation. He also provides a research, dataset production and the creation of trainings, reports and presentation materials. Benedict holds a BA in Japanese, Art History and Archaeology from SOAS, University of London. He lives in London.

Justin Muhl
Justin has been an Associate at TMP since 2020. He provides research, writing and analysis support for the Mission Climate Project with a primary focus on impacts in mining, energy and emerging markets. Justin holds a BA in Environmental & Geographical Sciences and Sociology from the University of Cape Town, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Sustainable Development from Stellenbosch University. He lives in Cape Town.

Willie Munden
Willie has been Chief Engineer at TMP since 2013 and co-leads the scientific work for the Mission Climate Project, with a particular emphasis on developing unique modeling approaches for climate extremes. He previously spent two decades with NASA, where he worked on spaceflight and laboratory instrument design, development, testing and operation, including extensive experience with climate satellites. He has extensive experience with difficult use cases, from marine surroundings to remote forests in Central Africa. He has a BS in electronics engineering from Old Dominion University and lives on Hatteras Island.

Ivana Ema Pavkova
Ivana Ema has been an Analyst at TMP since 2022 and is responsible for project management of the Mission Climate Project. Before joining TMP, she gained experience at the OECD and the UNFCCC working on climate mitigation issues and loss and damage. Prior to that, Ivana Ema contributed to the revisions of the second NDC of Mauritius as a junior consultant at Cibola Partners. She received her Masters degree in Environmental Policy and her Bachelors degree in Humanities and Social Sciences from Sciences Po Paris. She lives in Paris.

Peter Riggs
Peter is the executive director of Pivot Point, an American nonprofit assisting the Mission Climate Project with design, outreach and interface with foundations. Over more than two decades in philanthropy, Peter has been a program officer with the Ford Foundation, Rockefeller Brothers Fund, Open Society Institute, and Climate and Land Use Alliance. He founded the Forum on Democracy & Trade in the early 2000s, focusing on responses to NAFTA and the WTO Services agreement. He lives on Harstine Island, Washington State.

Tom Shriner
Tom has been a Software Developer with TMP since 2012 . He develops applications and maintains databases for the project and has over 25 years of experience in embedded/real-time/mission critical software and systems engineering. Tom has been a software developer and engineer with numerous companies, including the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Monsanto and Motorola. He has a BSET from Purdue University and resides in the Chicago area.
